**Our Pricing and Puppy Picking procedures differ from that of our Mini Goldendoodles.

Since our Shih Tzu are AKC registered and many are sold with various intentions such as for show qualities, breeding, etc.  Each Shih Tzu is priced separately based on coloring, pigmentation, structure, and AKC Shih Tzu Standards.  Faults are accounted for and will be discounted accordingly.  Because each pup is priced separately and sold based on its standards, there is not a puppy picking order when deposits are placed.  Rather, deposits are placed on individual puppies to reserve said puppy.  Deposits are all the same and are $250.00.  Please see the Pricing/Payment page for further details on our payment policy.

Visitation:  Since there is no official "Puppy Picking Day" for our Shih Tzu owners, we will schedule visitations for weeks 6, 8, and 10 for our in town owners.  We feel it is important for you to have as much contact with your Shih Tzu as possible.  This helps greatly with the bonding process.

Please Contact Us  or e-mail me at for more information.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Savannah, our Solid Liver color Shih Tzu weighs 9.6 lbs and is the sweetest little lady.   She is very laid back and well trained.  We firmly believe that traits of the parents do pass down to the puppies which is why we dedicate so much time and expense to our moms and dads.

A Little About Our Shih Tzu

We joke that Savannah is "part human part Shih Tzu."  She likes to sit in a child's booster seat on the floor by the table at dinner time to be part of the family.  She sucks on a pacifier when she's bored.  And she sleeps on a couch in our bedroom at night, on her back.  Yes, she's spoiled, but once you get your hands on one of these cute little gems, your's will be spoiled as well.

Angus is our new Sire and is bringing us great qualities from his lines to join with Savannah.  He is also a more rare color, being a solid black.   His particular genetic make up has allowed his coloring to grey slightly as he has matured.  He has a great gentle personality and loves to play with our children.   He is at his mature weight of 10 lbs.  We do not intend to breed imperial Shih Tzu, and would like to get our puppies as high as weight as possible within AKC limits.   Should you want a smaller sized Shih Tzu, we most likely will have one from time to time.  We will not hike up the price like other breeders for the so-called "Imperial Shih Tzu."  Only rare colors will have a slightly higher price tag.  A smaller Shih Tzu is just that. . .a smaller Shih Tzu.  We breed to improve the breed and we feel Angus and Savannah will give us those desired traits.

Shih Tzu are very loyal, smart, and emotional pets.  They are faithful to their owners and thrive on positive reinforcement.  They can also be severely damaged by negative and abusive behavior on the part of the owner.  Therefore, if you cannot handle the every day training and miscomings of a puppy, the Shih Tzu is not the breed for you.
Shih Tzu unlike our Mini Goldendoodles, take more time to mature.  Therefore, you must give
them more time to understand your commands, grow a full-sized bladder, get used to their new schedule, and become fully potty trained.

Potty training the Shih Tzu is a little more challenging than our Mini Goldendoodles, but a faithful owner using positive reinforcement can accomplish this task fairly easily when following a few simple rules.
-Remember the Shih Tzu breed loves company.  They do better with a companion.  Most Shih Tzu owners have more than one Shih Tzu.
-Be sure to practice good kennel training tactics.
-Take your Shih Tzu out to potty every 3 to 4 hours during the first 2 weeks.
-Keep your Shih Tzu in a confined area during the day to avoid accidents.
-Praise, Praise, Praise your Shih Tzu when they potty outside.  They so badly want to please their owners.  This will encourage them to do this again to get this kind of response again.  The same is true when you punish them.  They will "punish" you with a little "suprise" when you get home.  They are smart dogs.
-Don't forget to give them that extra attention they are looking for.

Once again, Shih Tzu are very smart and faithful companion lap dogs.  They will curl up and sleep by your feet and follow you around the house waiting for you to go to bed at night.  Treat them with love and kindness and they will reward you the same way.

Shih Tzu are also hypoallergenic pets.  They have a human type hair instead of fur.  They do not shed and are a great choice for those troubled with allergies and/or asthma.  Please check with your doctor or allergist before you consider your purchase of a Shih Tzu as even non shedding dogs can cause problems for some patients.  Also keep in mind that all pets are more allergy friendly when kept clean and brushed on a regular basis.

Shih Tzu are great family pets, but must be watched when around small children.  They are very fragile when young and are prone to broken bones and hurt emotions if involved in rough play.  We do not recommend you purchase a Shih Tzu if you have toddlers or small children who would have a problem in this area.  Just as not all Shih Tzu are alike, not all toddlers are alike.  We have five children ranging from 2-13 yrs of age who have all been raised with Shih Tzu.  We have taught them how to treat puppies big an small.  This can be done, but it takes time and supervision.  Kids are curious.  Our 2 yr old loves to hold Savannah on the sofa and has been doing so since she was a year old without incident.

Our Shih Tzu are priced at the time of birth.  This usually ranges from $500 - $1,200.  We do run holiday and summer specials.  All Shih Tzu are kept at Lamgo Farms until 10 weeks of age and sometimes 12 weeks depending on each puppy's maturing progress.  We
would not want to send you home with a struggling puppy.  Not to worry, your puppy will still be very small for a very long time.

We do start our Shih Tzu wait list prior to whelping, but do not accept deposits until after the puppies are born.  We require a $250 non-refundable deposit.  Please see our
Policy and Procedure page for more information as well as our Pricing and Shipping pages.
